The beginning of school has really flown by. Thanks to everyone for making the beginning such a success. We have lots of new faces in new places. This is to update everyone on a few things.
Benchmarking
Everyone has completed the first benchmark for AIMSWEB. The next window will open in January.
Acuity
The testing period for the first benchmark for students in grades 3-5 will be October 22-November 2, 2012.
Important Dates
- October 9-First nine weeks ends
- October 16-Report Cards Go Home
- October 18-Elementary Parent Conference 4:00-6:30 p.m.
- October 19-ISE Erin Gruell a nationally recognized speaker on building relationships will make two presentations. Elementary teachers will meet at 10:00 a.m. in the Spring Valley High School auditorium. Erin will be available following the presentation for book signings. The movie "Freedom Writers" depicted her classroom.
- November 4-Daylight Savings Time ends
- November 6-Election Day-don't forget to vote. School will not be in session.
- November 12-Veteran 's Day-No School
- November 13-Mid-term ends
- November 16-Early Release
- November 19-23-No School, Thanksgiving Break
- November 27-Mid-terms sent home
- December 4-Elementary Math Field Day
- December 15-Bond Election, don't forget to vote.
- December 21-ISE Day, Semester ends
- December 24-January 1-No School, Christmas Break
- January 4-Report Cards go home
- January 9, 2012-Wayne County Spelling Bee
The Elementary Math Field Day will be held on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the Ceredo Baptist Church which is located next to Ceredo Elementary. Gail Maynard, coordinator will provide the placement test to schools for team selection.
Wayne County Spelling Bee
The Wayne County Spelling Bee will be held on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at Spring Valley High School auditorium. The bee will begin at 9:30 a.m. If school is delayed or cancelled the make up day is January 10, 2013.
